Carolyn Shelby is Executive Director of the Ladonia Foundation, a registered US 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and the second Queen of Ladonia, having been elected in 2011 following the abdication of Queen Ywonne I Jarl. A citizen of Ladonia since 2000, she previously served in the Ladonian Cabinet as Minister of Customizations.
A longtime speaker and leader within the international micronational community, she has spoken at micronational conferences and gatherings throughout Europe and North America, including the Polination conferences in London (2012) and Perugia (2015), as well as every MicroCon event she has attended: California (2015), Toronto (2019), Las Vegas (2022), and Chicago (2023), where she also served as host.
In 2023, she was inducted into the Micronational Hall of Excellence and received the Emperor Norton Award.
